Sealing Walls
If you find black stains indicating mold, use muriatic acid to clean them, hosing down well and insuring proper ventilation. Do this process a couple of times.
Once clean, the walls can be sealed in several ways. Typically used is Drylok, but a more superior product is Xypex (I could not find this in any hardware store near my area. Sent an email to the company, waiting for response). Drylok is a latex based waterproofer, while Xypex, which is more expensive, relies on the presence of water to activate.
Insulating your basement walls
The most common choice for basement insulation is fiberglass batts. They’re easy to work with, inexpensive and readily available. In any finished basement wall, before closing in the wall you need to have a vapor barrier that prevents moisture transfer between the warm room and the cold insulation behind the wall. A vapor barrier can be provided by ‘faced’ fiberglass bats or by covering the entire wall and the insulation with an unbroken sheet of 6-mil plastic.

Check out the video at http://www.doityourself.com/video/How-to-Repair-a-Blacktop-Driveway-Crack-61996587.
In summary, use an Asphalt Repair compound (see here at Lowes) with a Caulking Gun, insert small stones where the crack is a bit wide and cover the whole crack with some sand (from the side of the driveway) to mask it and to avoid getting stuck to the underside of shoes, when still wet.

In summary, just get a tool aptly named “Vane Savers (click to check it out in Home Depot)“, which are like a paper clip that clasp on top of the vane.

I have been doing a lot of research regarding the college financial aid options. Here are my findings so far. As with most of the information on this web site, it is primarily for my consumption – but if it benefits anybody else, well that is good.

There are some online bollywood websites that I frequent a lot. Two of the main sites are
1. Dhingana.com: http://www.dhingana.com : Ever since I came upon Pandora.com for western music, I have been on the lookout for a similar site for Bollywood. I knew, given all the talent in India, one was sure to show up sooner than later. Moreover, I expected the site to be better in some ways. And so, here is Dhingana.com. Read More…
2. iDhun.tv: http://www.iDhun.tv: What Dhingana has done for my ears, iDhun has done for my eyes. It is a collection of bollywood songs which can be viewed on the computer. Read More …

Being in the US, it is very difficult to get access to Cricket broadcasts. The choices are either Dish Network or DirectTV. But, unfortunately sometimes the broadcast is on Dish, sometimes on DirectTV and other times on neither (like the recent Indian IPL Twenty20 in South Africa). So, the option is to go to the web.
Here are some sites I found on the web, to read, watch or listen to Cricket.

Dish network is offering a promotion where if you opt for their “AutoPay” and “Paperless Billing” service options, then they will offer Cinemax (5 channels) for 1 penny/month. I knew this option was in place last year, and I called them up today to see if it was still in effect. Although “officially” this was only till 12/31/2008, they are still giving this promotion. All you got to do is call Dish Network @ (800) 333 DISH [3474], talk to the billing dept. service agent, and mention that you would like to be part of this promotion. That’s it.
Also, caution for any new Dish subscribers. As part of my research, I saw many Dish install advertisement which claim that you can get this promotion only if you go through them . This is not true. This is not a promotion that is ONLY available to new subscribers. You can shop around for the best Dish install deal, and then call yourself to get this promotion.
Another promotion which is also being falsely advertised by many installers, is the 3 free months HBO/Showtime. This is also available for ANYBODY if you extend your commitment for 24 months with Dish.
Today, I decided to google Moroma. Well, the primary intention was to find where was my own site in the results. I did not expect a lot of hits given I had picked the name “Moroma” as a personal acronym-mix and knew it did not have a meaning … at least not in the English language.
Well, the results were interesting. First, a downer … my own site was on page 2. Hmm, need to find a good way to bring it to the top. But that is another research and probably another blog. Among the other results, the top result was a reference to a resort in Yacatan, Mexico .. which was actually misspelled in the posting. It was meant to be “Maroma Resort”. So – the top result does not even deserve to be there. In fact, the top two results do not deserve to be there – they both have the same mistake. Next there is a font and even a place in Ethiopia by this name. Guess more research and maybe a Google Map link to the same should be coming soon.
